After serving two terms as a City Councilman, Joseph is serving his first term as Mayor of Monroeville. The primary focus of his administration is economic development, quality of life, public safety, and enhancement of infrastructure.
He is a graduate of Auburn University, Class of 2005.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a focus on International Business and Spanish.
After graduation, Joseph returned to Monroeville to work in his family’s business, Monroe Scrap Material. He is the fifth generation of the family involved in the recycling industry. In 2016 Joseph and his father, Butch, opened a Guthrie’s Chicken Finger franchise in Monroeville.
He is married to Emilie Oglesby, an artist currently working on her Masters in Art. They have been married since December 2008, and have 2 children, Eloise (5) and James Hollis (19 months). Emilie also owns a gift shop on the historic square in Monroeville.
