W.D. Pickens Fire Station #1

Station one is located downtown at 160 East Claiborne St., and houses the administration section and fire prevention  section of MFRD. Emergency response apparatus from station one consists of a 2008 Pierce Velocity equipped with a 1,250 gpm Waterous pump and 800 gallons of water. The second apparatus responding from station one is a 2014 Pierce Velocity 85’ aerial platform equipped with a Waterous 1,500 gpm pump and has 500 gallons of water on board. The departments first  out rescue unit, Rescue 1 is a 2002 E-One Freightliner equipped with a complete assortment of HURST ® rescue equipment  as well as medical, hazardous materials, confined space and high angle rope rescue equipment. The department’s quick  attack brush unit, and Licensed BLS Ambulance / Rescue is  also dispatched from station.
